Al-Nassr has finalized a deal valued at up to £43.7 million for Chelsea forward Joao Felix. The 25-year-old has been authorized to travel to Riyadh for his medical examination to complete the transfer.
Felix will join fellow Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo at the Saudi Pro League club, after Al-Nassr successfully fended off interest from his former club, Benfica.
Chelsea will recover the £45 million they paid Atletico Madrid for Felix last summer. Felix was also loaned to AC Milan for six months in January, which involved a £5 million loan fee.
Recently, Chelsea, who clinched the Club World Cup this month, has sold goalkeepers Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga, as well as winger Noni Madueke, to stabilize their finances this summer.
The club has generated approximately £130 million, with additional players like forward Raheem Sterling, left-back Ben Chilwell, midfielder Renato Veiga, and striker Armando Broja currently available for transfer.
Chelsea has invested £212 million in signings, including striker Liam Delap, winger Jamie Gittens, and forward Joao Pedro. They remain interested in midfielder Xavi Simons and defender Jorrel Hato.
However, UEFA has pressured Chelsea to achieve a "positive transfer balance" this summer, following an initial £27 million fine. The club must adhere to these conditions to avoid restrictions on registering new signings for the Champions League this season.
