Arsenal Apologizes to Atletico Madrid Over Hot Water Issue
Arsenal has issued an apology to Atletico Madrid following a hot water failure at Emirates Stadium, which forced the Spanish team to return to their hotel for showers after a training session.
According to UEFA regulations, visiting teams are permitted to train at the home stadium the evening before Champions League matches.
Diego Simeone's squad was preparing for their upcoming league phase match against Arsenal on Tuesday night when the issue arose.
At 18:45 BST, Atletico Madrid's staff notified Arsenal that there was no hot water in their dressing room. The Gunners subsequently discovered that the home dressing room was experiencing the same problem.
As a result, Atletico Madrid concluded their training session 15 minutes early, opting to return to their hotel instead of continuing until their scheduled end time of 19:30.
Spanish newspaper Marca reported that the Atletico squad was 'angry' about the situation.
Arsenal has since apologized to Atletico Madrid's staff for the inconvenience caused.
In the Champions League, Mikel Arteta's team has started strong, winning their first two matches without conceding a goal. In contrast, Atletico Madrid suffered a 3-2 defeat to Liverpool but bounced back with a decisive 5-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
