Arsenal has successfully signed Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres from Portuguese club Sporting for a total of €73 million (£63 million).
The 27-year-old forward has committed to a five-year contract with Arsenal, following a delay in the transfer due to negotiations over additional payments between the clubs.
The agreement consists of a €63 million transfer fee along with €10 million in potential add-ons.
This acquisition elevates Arsenal's total summer expenditure to approximately £204 million, adding to the signings of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, and Cristhian Mosquera.
Earlier this month, BBC Sport reported that Mikel Arteta's team shifted their focus to Gyokeres after reaching a stalemate in their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
Arsenal's sporting director, Andrea Berta, traveled to Lisbon to lead the negotiations with Sporting.
The deal concludes the prolonged uncertainty surrounding Gyokeres' future, as he had been previously linked with Manchester United earlier in the summer.
Gyokeres did not return to Sporting for pre-season training earlier this month, prompting the club's president, Frederico Varandas, to announce potential disciplinary measures against the player.
