Aston Villa Secures Dominant Victory Over Bournemouth
Aston Villa achieved their largest Premier League victory of the season with a commanding four-goal win against Bournemouth.
Emiliano Buendia opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark with a stunning free-kick from just outside the penalty area.
Villa extended their lead when Morgan Rogers nutmegged Alex Jimenez and set up Amadou Onana, who delivered a precise low shot into the corner of the net.
Bournemouth showed significant improvement after the break, with Alex Scott's deflected shot forcing Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez to backpedal and tip the ball over the bar.
The Cherries were awarded a penalty when Rogers' arm blocked Evanilson's header aimed at goal. However, Martinez anticipated Antoine Semenyo's low shot to his right and made a diving save, much to the delight of the Holte End supporters.
What could have been a challenging final phase for Villa turned into a comfortable finish as Ross Barkley scored the third goal with a glancing header from a Lucas Digne corner.
Fellow substitute Donyell Malen capped off the scoring by redirecting a low drive from Youri Tielemans, leaving Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic wrong-footed.
With this victory, Villa climbed to seventh place in the league, now level on 18 points with Bournemouth but ahead on goal difference, also surpassing Manchester United.
