Aston Villa Secures Jadon Sancho on Loan from Manchester United
Aston Villa has finalized a season-long loan deal for forward Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, with negotiations for Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott also nearing completion.
The club is set to cover 80% of Sancho's wages, which exceed £200,000 per week. Additionally, the terms of the loan and achievable bonuses are expected to ensure that Manchester United receives full wage coverage.
The 25-year-old England winger had previously declined a transfer to Roma earlier in the transfer window, while also attracting interest from Juventus.
Earlier on transfer deadline day, Villa secured former United defender Victor Lindelof on a two-year contract, with the Swedish player joining on a free transfer.
Sancho has spent the past 18 months on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, but neither club opted to make his transfer permanent, with Chelsea incurring a £5 million penalty for failing to fulfill their obligation to sign him.
His current contract with United is set to expire next summer, although Ruben Amorim's team holds an option to extend it, preventing him from leaving without a transfer fee.
