Defending champions Celtic are set to host newly promoted Falkirk in the Premier Sports Cup, following the draw for the last 16. Meanwhile, third-tier Alloa Athletic, having topped their group, will face Rangers.
The draw took place after St Mirren secured a 2-1 victory over Ayr United, clinching the final spot for group winners. Stephen Robinson's team is scheduled to host Scottish Premiership rivals Heart of Midlothian.
Despite their defeat, Ayr United advanced as one of the three best runners-up, edging out Dunfermline Athletic. Scott Brown's side will now visit Championship rivals Partick Thistle.
Aberdeen, Dundee United, and Hibernian, along with Celtic and Rangers, received byes to the second round due to their participation in European competitions.
Aberdeen has been drawn away to Championship side Greenock Morton. Dundee United and Hibernian will face Premiership teams Kilmarnock and promoted Livingston, respectively.
In the remaining fixture, relegated St Johnstone will host top-flight Motherwell. The matches are scheduled for August 16th and 17th.
