Coventry City Strengthens Championship Lead with Victory over Watford
Coventry City solidified their position at the top of the Championship and reinforced their reputation as the most formidable attacking team in English football with a 3-1 victory over Watford at home.
The Sky Blues, managed by Frank Lampard, took control of the match early, scoring two goals within the first seven minutes through Brandon Thomas-Asante and Jamie Allen.
A third goal from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, along with a red card shown to Watford's James Abankwah before halftime, effectively sealed the outcome of the match.
Although Watford managed to score from the penalty spot in the 68th minute, courtesy of Imran Louza, Coventry comfortably secured their sixth consecutive win, extending their lead to four points at the top of the table ahead of the afternoon fixtures.
