Crystal Palace Interested in Signing Manuel Akanji from Manchester City
Crystal Palace has expressed interest in acquiring Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji.
While no official bid has been submitted, sources have informed BBC Sport that Palace has inquired about the availability of the Swiss international.
It is reported that Manchester City would demand approximately £15 million for Akanji, who has not participated in either of their Premier League matches this season.
The 30-year-old defender is also attracting interest from Turkish champions Galatasaray.
Akanji joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 and was part of the team that secured the Treble, starting in the Champions League final victory over Inter Milan the following year.
Earlier this month, manager Pep Guardiola indicated that the club's focus was shifting towards player departures, having invested over £150 million on six new signings this summer.
Guardiola remarked that it is "not healthy" to have such a large squad and noted that "people will talk with players and agents to find a solution."
Goalkeeper Ederson has been linked with a move to Galatasaray, while Tottenham has initiated discussions to sign winger Savinho.
The transfer window is set to close at 19:00 BST on Monday.
