Dom Ballard's Hat-Trick Leads Leyton Orient to Victory Over Doncaster
Dom Ballard scored a hat-trick as Leyton Orient secured a decisive victory against Doncaster.
The match began perfectly for Orient, who took the lead within the first minute. Ballard capitalized on a loose ball from Connor O'Riordan, advancing towards goal and slotting it past goalkeeper Ian Lawlor.
After 27 minutes, Aaron Connolly found space following a one-two with Charlie Wellens and struck a powerful shot from outside the area into the bottom right corner.
Orient continued to push for a third goal, with Connolly and Ballard both coming close. The game was effectively sealed just three minutes into the second half when Ballard rounded Lawlor after a goal-kick from Killian Cahill.
Although Cahill had to turn a close-range effort from Billy Sharp over the bar in the 54th minute, Orient eventually netted a well-deserved fourth goal in the 72nd minute. Ballard finished off a low cross from Connolly to complete his hat-trick.
The only downside for the hosts was the sight of Rarmani Edmonds-Green being taken off the pitch on a stretcher.
