Dominic Calvert-Lewin Set for Medical at Leeds United
Former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is scheduled for a medical examination at Leeds United after finalizing an agreement to join the newly promoted Premier League club on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old concluded his nine-year tenure at Everton in June, describing his departure as an "incredibly difficult decision."
During his time at Everton, Calvert-Lewin netted 71 goals in 273 appearances after transferring from Sheffield United in 2016.
Leeds currently has other striking options, including Joel Piroe and Lukas Nmecha, while Patrick Bamford has been informed that he is "not part" of manager Daniel Farke's plans for the season. Additionally, Mateo Joseph has been loaned to Mallorca.
Calvert-Lewin's most notable season was in 2020-21, when he scored 16 goals in 33 Premier League matches and was part of the England squad that reached the final of the European Championship that summer.
However, he faced challenges with injuries and performance the following year, starting just over half of the 26 matches he participated in last season.
Since 2021, he has not added to his tally of 11 England caps and four goals.
