Donyell Malen Joins Roma from Aston Villa
Netherlands forward Donyell Malen has transferred to AS Roma from Aston Villa after spending just one year with the Premier League club.
While Aston Villa has not disclosed the transfer fee, AS Roma has confirmed that the arrangement is a loan with an option to purchase.
The 26-year-old striker netted 10 goals in 46 appearances for Villa after arriving from Borussia Dortmund in January 2025.
This season, Malen has scored seven goals for Unai Emery's side, although he has faced challenges in securing regular playing time, with only five league starts among his 21 appearances.
A former youth player for Ajax and Arsenal, Malen began his professional career at PSV Eindhoven before moving to Dortmund in 2021.
Throughout his career, he has accumulated 104 goals in 294 club appearances and has contributed 13 goals in 49 matches for the Netherlands national team.
Malen will don the number 14 jersey at Roma, who currently sit fifth in Serie A.
