Ethan Mbappe Scores Late Equaliser Against PSG
Ethan Mbappe scored a late equaliser against his former club as Lille held leaders Paris Saint-Germain to a draw in Ligue 1.
The 18-year-old was released by PSG in 2024, the same summer his brother Kylian departed for Real Madrid.
Kylian, now 26, is PSG's all-time top scorer with 256 goals in 308 appearances. In contrast, Ethan made five appearances for the club without finding the net.
The elder Mbappe has stated that he would have signed a new contract with PSG had Ethan requested him to do so.
Defending champions PSG took the lead on Sunday when substitute Nuno Mendes scored a stunning free-kick from 25 yards out.
However, Ethan Mbappe, who had only been on the pitch for four minutes, equalised late in the match with a precise finish into the bottom corner from 16 yards.
This marked the second goal of his career, following a late strike against Toulouse last month.
In celebration, he performed his brother's signature crossed-arm gesture, while Kylian cheered from the stands.
On Saturday, Kylian had played for Real Madrid, scoring his 58th goal for the club in a 3-1 victory over Villarreal.
