Striker Evan Ferguson made an impressive start to his loan at Roma, scoring a hat-trick within 24 minutes and totaling four goals in his debut match.
The forward, who recently joined Roma on a season-long loan, opened the scoring with a header from a corner just eight minutes into the game against UniPomezia, a team newly promoted to Serie D.
The 20-year-old followed up with a powerful shot into the roof of the net after receiving a through ball, securing his second goal. Ferguson, representing the Republic of Ireland, completed his hat-trick with a close-range finish.
His remarkable debut was further highlighted when he scored his fourth goal, a low shot into the bottom corner, at the hour mark before being substituted shortly thereafter.
Roma, under new manager Gian Piero Gasperini, dominated their second pre-season match with a 9-0 victory.
Ferguson joined Roma from the Seagulls, aiming to regain form after a challenging 18 months marred by injuries and inconsistent performances. Before this standout performance, he had scored only once at the club level since November 2023.
