Juventus Triumphs Over Inter Milan in Thrilling Serie A Match
Brothers Khephren and Marcus Thuram faced off as Juventus triumphed over Inter Milan 4-3 in a thrilling Serie A match.
The siblings, sons of former France international Lilian Thuram, both scored within six minutes of each other, leveling the score at 3-3 with just eight minutes remaining in the Derby d'Italia.
However, substitute Vasilije Adzic clinched the victory for Juventus with a spectacular long-range strike in injury time.
This marks Juventus's third consecutive win, maintaining their perfect start to the Serie A season, while Inter Milan remains on three points after suffering their second straight defeat under new coach Cristian Chivu.
Former Bournemouth and Newcastle defender Lloyd Kelly opened the scoring for Juventus in the 14th minute, expertly side-footing a low volley into the corner of the net.
Inter Milan equalized when Hakan Calhanoglu fired home from distance in the 30th minute, but Kenan Yildiz quickly restored Juventus's lead with a powerful strike just eight minutes later.
Calhanoglu equalized again with a stunning volley from the edge of the penalty area in the 65th minute, before Marcus Thuram put Inter ahead for the first time with a header from a corner with 14 minutes left.
Yet, Khephren Thuram, the younger of the two brothers, responded by nodding in a free-kick at the other end.
Juve secured their victory in the first minute of stoppage time when 19-year-old Adzic unleashed a magnificent 30-yard strike into the net.
After the match, Khephren shared, "After the goal, Marcus said, 'well done', with the eyes of a brother, but he wasn't laughing. He teases me about headers, and so does dad, so today I'm happy."
