Kane's Milestone Goal Leads Bayern Munich to Victory Over Club Brugge
Harry Kane netted his 20th goal in just his 12th appearance of the season, contributing to Bayern Munich's dominant victory over Club Brugge and ensuring their perfect start in the Champions League.
The England captain scored an easy goal in the 14th minute, tapping in a cross from Konrad Laimer after being left unmarked in front of the net.
Notably, neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo achieved their first 20 goals in a season in as few as 12 matches.
Kane's goal came on the heels of a remarkable strike by 17-year-old Lennart Karl, who became the youngest player to score for Bayern in the Champions League, surpassing Jamal Musiala's previous record by 121 days. Karl's stunning left-footed shot found the top corner after he skillfully evaded two defenders.
Luis Diaz added a third goal in the 34th minute, striking the underside of the crossbar to mark his seventh goal since joining from Liverpool. Just before halftime, Kane nearly scored again but hit the post from a challenging angle.
Early in the second half, Kane missed another opportunity, being denied by Brugge goalkeeper Nordin Jackers in a one-on-one situation after breaking free from the defense. He was also thwarted by a last-ditch block from Jorne Spileers before being substituted for Nicolas Jackson with 20 minutes left to play.
Jackson quickly made an impact, scoring Bayern's fourth goal from close range, sealing a third consecutive win in the competition after Diaz had an effort cleared off the line.
Bayern now sits second in the group standings behind Paris St-Germain, having accumulated nine points, while Club Brugge remains in 20th place with three points.
The German champions will face PSG in France on November 4 at 20:00 GMT, while Club Brugge will host Barcelona the following day at the same time.
