Koki Saito Shines in QPR's First Win of the Season
Koki Saito made an impressive impact off the bench, scoring a remarkable goal in QPR's first victory of the season against Charlton Athletic during his return to the club.
The Japanese midfielder rejoined Queens Park Rangers on a permanent basis from Belgian club Lommel on Monday, having previously spent the latter half of last season on loan at Loftus Road.
Paul Smyth had given QPR an early lead, but Charlton's Rob Apter equalized with a volley in the second half. With the match tied, Saito showcased his skill by collecting the ball in midfield, driving through the Charlton defense, and slotting it into the bottom corner, securing crucial points for his team.
Richard Kone added further excitement by scoring his first Championship goal deep into stoppage time, sealing QPR's first win under head coach Julien Stephan.
In contrast, Nathan Jones' team has now suffered defeats in their last two Championship matches and three consecutive losses across all competitions.
