Linfield Secures First Away Victory of the Season Against Bangor
Linfield achieved their first away victory of the season with a 3-0 triumph over Bangor at Clandeboye Park, propelling them into third place in the Irish Premiership standings.
The away team took an early lead in the 14th minute when Matthew Fitzpatrick capitalized on a well-executed play initiated by Isaac Baird and Jamie Mulgrew. Baird recovered the ball in midfield and passed to Mulgrew, whose looping cross set up Fitzpatrick for a clear shot on goal. The striker deftly advanced and finished past goalkeeper Gareth Deane.
Linfield doubled their lead shortly after, with Kieran Offord heading in from close range after a corner taken by Kirk Millar in the 28th minute.
Despite a strong start to the second half by Bangor, including a missed header from substitute Lewis Francis, Linfield continued to control the match. Bangor's Mark Haughey had a header deflected, while Fitzpatrick narrowly missed extending the lead further.
As the match neared its conclusion, Chris McKee sealed the victory for Linfield by scoring his first goal of the season in the 90th minute, firing past the busy Deane.
Prior to this match, Linfield had recorded a draw against Glentoran and a defeat to Ballymena United in their previous away encounters.
