Marc Guehi's Transfer to Manchester City Progresses
Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi's £20 million transfer to Manchester City is advancing, with the England international scheduled to undergo a medical examination on Sunday.
The 25-year-old has already reached an agreement on personal terms with the Premier League club.
Manchester City initiated discussions with Guehi earlier this month in response to injuries sustained by defenders Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias.
The Palace captain, who has attracted interest from several top European clubs, was set to become a free agent this summer and was close to joining Liverpool last year.
Guehi played a pivotal role in leading the South London club to their first major trophy, securing victory against City in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
A product of Chelsea's academy, Guehi has made 188 appearances for Palace since his transfer from Swansea in 2020, including 33 matches this season as the team embarked on their inaugural Europa Conference League campaign.
This transfer is believed to have prompted Palace manager Oliver Glasner to announce on Friday that he would step down at the end of the season.
In addition to Guehi, City has already signed Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for £62.5 million this month.
