Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is poised to join Barcelona on a season-long loan. The 27-year-old arrived in Catalonia on Sunday night with permission from United to finalize the move.
Images of Rashford's arrival in Barcelona via private jet quickly spread on social media. Discussions between the Spanish giants and United advanced rapidly last week, culminating in a preliminary agreement over the weekend.
United has now authorized Rashford to complete the move, which includes an initial 12-month loan with an option to purchase.
Rashford has favored joining Barcelona since expressing his desire for a new challenge in December after being sidelined by United head coach Ruben Amorim. This transfer marks Rashford's second consecutive loan spell following a six-month period with Aston Villa in the latter half of last season.
The forward is expected to undergo a medical examination with the La Liga club early this week, aiming to join Barcelona's pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea on Thursday. If he participates in the tour, Rashford could potentially face his former United teammate Jesse Lingard.
Lingard, 32, is currently in his second season with the K League team FC Seoul, which is scheduled to play against Barcelona on July 31.
