Mohammed Kudus Injured; Tottenham's Struggles Continue
Tottenham Hotspur winger Mohammed Kudus has been sidelined until after the international break in March. The 25-year-old player exited just 19 minutes into Sunday's 1-1 draw against Sunderland due to a thigh injury.
Kudus is expected to return for the Premier League match scheduled on April 11. Manager Thomas Frank provided an update, stating, "Mohammed Kudus unfortunately has a more significant injury to the tendon in the quad. We expect him back after the March international break."
Kudus joined Tottenham for £55 million from West Ham last summer and has netted two goals in the Premier League for the club.
Tottenham's Troubles in Attack
Tottenham's 3-2 loss to Bournemouth on Wednesday night has intensified the frustration surrounding Frank's team. This defeat leaves Tottenham in 14th place in the Premier League, with only seven wins from 21 matches.
The latest setback came against a Bournemouth side that had been enduring a club-record streak of 11 matches without a victory in the top flight. The struggling attack of Spurs seems to be the primary concern for the north London club's supporters.
While Frank may attribute the team's issues to the absence of key players such as James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke, statistics reveal that Tottenham is simply not functioning well in attack. They have recorded the fewest through balls of any Premier League team this season and rank among the bottom five in shots, expected goals, and touches in the opposition's penalty area.
The club may look to bolster their squad in the upcoming January transfer window, but with only one win in their last six matches across all competitions, the winter season is proving to be challenging for Spurs.
