Morgan Gibbs-White participated in Nottingham Forest's opening pre-season friendly, despite ongoing uncertainty about his future following interest from Tottenham.
Fans enthusiastically chanted the England midfielder's name as he exited the pitch at the end of the first half, to which the 25-year-old responded with a heart gesture.
Nottingham Forest is considering legal action regarding Tottenham's interest, investigating whether a confidentiality agreement in Gibbs-White's £60 million release clause has been violated.
After the goalless draw with Monaco, defender Ola Aina commented on Gibbs-White's professionalism, noting that he was substituted at halftime.
Aina told Sky Sports, "Morgan is a professional. I don't really know the details of the situation, but he was here today, playing, training with us, and maintaining his fitness as usual."
"At the end of the day, we're all professionals. We have a job to do, and that's exactly what Morgan is doing right now, keeping it professional," Aina added.
