Nottingham Forest Nears £30m Deal for Winger Dilane Bakwa
Nottingham Forest is on the verge of finalizing a deal exceeding £30 million for Strasbourg winger Dilane Bakwa.
The 23-year-old is anticipated to complete his transfer to the City Ground, which would bring Forest's total spending this summer to approximately £180 million.
Bakwa, a France Under-21 international, has made 66 appearances for Strasbourg since his move from Bordeaux two years ago.
If the deal goes through, Bakwa would become Forest's tenth signing of the summer, alongside the expected acquisition of Botafogo left-back Cuiabano.
Among Forest's new signings are Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich for £37.5 million, James McAtee from Manchester City for around £30 million, and striker Arnaud Kalimuendo from Rennes for £26 million.
Meanwhile, winger Jota Silva and striker Taiwo Awoniyi may depart the club before the transfer deadline on Monday at 19:00 BST.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is also scheduled to meet with owner Evangelos Marinakis during the international break following his public concerns regarding the club's transfer activities.
Nuno expressed that he feels the club has been sluggish in pursuing their targets and acknowledged a shift in his relationship with Marinakis.
Sources from BBC Sport indicate that Nuno's position remains uncertain, but the former Wolves and Tottenham manager expects to lead the team into their match against Arsenal on September 13.
Despite a 3-0 defeat at home to West Ham on Sunday, Nuno asserted that the loss would not influence the upcoming discussions.
