Ross County Parts Ways with Manager Tony Docherty Following Heavy Defeat
Ross County has mutually agreed to part ways with manager Tony Docherty following a disheartening 6-0 defeat to Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship.
The Dingwall club, which was relegated from the Premiership after a play-off loss to Livingston last season, currently finds itself at the bottom of the second division, two points behind ninth-placed Queen's Park.
Saturday's disappointing result in Kirkcaldy marked County's third consecutive defeat in the Championship, with the team having secured only two league victories throughout the entire season.
Docherty's managerial career has faced challenges, as he was dismissed by Dundee just last May after finishing in 10th place in the top flight.
He leaves alongside assistant Callum Davidson, prompting Ross County to seek their third permanent manager of the season. The previous manager, Don Cowie, departed after the team registered a draw and two defeats at the start of the Championship season, while John Robertson briefly took charge as interim manager for one match.
In a statement, the club expressed gratitude, saying, "We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to both Tony and Callum for their efforts during their time at the football club." The club also noted that further updates would be provided to supporters in due course.
