Scott Parker Remains Resilient Amid Pressure at Burnley

Burnley manager Scott Parker has expressed his determination to "keep bouncing back" despite the mounting pressure of ensuring the club remains in the Premier League.

The Clarets, who returned to the top flight this summer, have struggled, winning only three of their first 16 matches and currently sit 19th in the league, six points adrift of safety.

"I feel the pressure every time I’m in this position; I’ve felt it every time I’ve stepped onto a football pitch for 20 years," Parker stated.

He emphasized, "No one—be it an owner, a fan, or a journalist—can put more pressure on me than I put on myself. I’m a winner and a fighter, and that’s how I’ve approached my career and life. Pressure is simply a part of it. It’s something you learn to manage, and that pressure, along with the fear that sometimes accompanies it, is what drives you forward."

Since their victory against bottom-placed Wolves on October 26, Parker's team has faced a challenging streak, suffering seven consecutive defeats. Their last three losses, against Fulham, Newcastle, and Crystal Palace, were all by a narrow margin of just one goal.

Frustration among the Turf Moor supporters was palpable after last weekend’s 3-2 defeat to Fulham, as boos echoed around the stadium at full time.

Parker remarked, "I don’t think that reaction is justified. I understand it, but I don’t agree with it. You don’t become a bad coach in four months. I’m working tirelessly and am fully committed. This is what I signed up for. I am an emotional person and wear my heart on my sleeve. It’s painful to see the team’s fortunes change so rapidly. However, I remain resolute; no matter the challenges, I will continue to strive to improve this group."
