Slavia Prague and Athletic Club Share Points in Goalless Draw
Slavia Prague's Champions League goal drought continued as they played to a goalless draw against Athletic Club in a frustrating match in Prague.
The Czech side has now gone four consecutive matches without scoring in this European campaign and remains winless in their last 11 European fixtures, with their last victory occurring against Ludogorets in the Europa League back in September 2024.
Athletic Club's Robert Navarro had three opportunities in quick succession early in the second half, but he was thwarted by three outstanding saves from home goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek, denying the Bilbao side a second European win of the season.
Although the visitors created more chances, Slavia Prague's resilient defense prevented them from finding the net, extending Athletic Club's winless streak to six matches in major European competitions.
This result was disappointing for both teams, who face challenging fixtures ahead.
Currently, both clubs sit in the elimination zone, with Athletic Club ranked 28th and facing Paris Saint-Germain next, while Slavia Prague, two spots lower, will take on Tottenham and then Barcelona.
