Roefs showcased his skills by saving low to his right from Garner, diving to deny Barry, and moving left to stop Beto's weak attempt.
This victory marks Sunderland's advancement to the FA Cup fourth round for only the second time in the last 11 seasons, following a strong start to their Premier League campaign.
On the other hand, Everton's exit was disappointing, especially considering they fielded a strong starting lineup. However, their performance was lackluster, compounded by an inexperienced bench due to the absence of eight first-team players owing to injuries, suspensions, or international commitments.
