Sunderland Signs Arthur Masuaku Ahead of Premier League Return
Sunderland has secured the signing of former West Ham left-back Arthur Masuaku, marking their 10th acquisition of the summer as they gear up for a return to the Premier League.
The 31-year-old free agent has signed a two-year contract, pending international clearance, after departing from Besiktas earlier this summer.
Masuaku joins a host of new arrivals, including Enzo Le Fee, Habib Diarra, Noah Sadiki, Reinildo Mandava, Chemsdine Talbi, Simon Adingra, Granit Xhaka, Robin Roefs, and Marc Guiu.
During his time at West Ham from 2016 to 2022, Masuaku made 128 appearances, followed by 108 games for Besiktas in Turkey.
"I'm excited to be here and really happy to be back in the Premier League," Masuaku expressed. "I want to bring a winning mentality and joy to the fans, and I'm eager to get started."
Regis Le Bris' team will kick off their first Premier League campaign in nine years against West Ham at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
