Tottenham Nears Loan Deal for Bayern Munich's Joao Palhinha
Tottenham Hotspur is close to securing a loan deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha.
Discussions between the two clubs are at an advanced stage, with a preliminary agreement already in place.
Negotiating personal terms is expected to be straightforward, and the deal is likely to include an option for the 30-year-old player to make the move permanent.
Palhinha brings substantial Premier League experience, having made 68 appearances in the top tier during his two-year stint at Fulham before transferring to Germany for £42.3 million in July 2024.
However, the Portuguese international has only started six Bundesliga matches since joining Bayern Munich and is eager to return to England.
Under the leadership of head coach Thomas Frank, Spurs have already finalized Mathys Tel's loan move from Bayern into a permanent transfer and have signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham in a deal valued at £55 million.
Previously, the club attempted to strengthen their midfield by pursuing Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White, but those efforts were unsuccessful.
