Uncertainty Surrounds Nuno Espirito Santo's Future at Nottingham Forest
Nuno Espirito Santo's future as manager of Nottingham Forest is in doubt following a deterioration in his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Sources have informed BBC Sport that Nuno's position is precarious, despite last season's success in qualifying for European competition and a victory over Brentford on the opening day of the new season.
This uncertainty has reportedly extended to the players, who are said to be aware of the situation.
During a news conference on Friday, the 51-year-old manager acknowledged that his relationship with Marinakis has changed, stating they are "not as close" as they once were.
"I always had a very good relationship with the owner; last season we were very close and spoke on a daily basis," Nuno remarked.
He added, "This season it is not as well [between us], but I always believe that dialogue is important because my concern is the squad and the season we have ahead of us. Our relationship has changed, and we are not as close."
When asked if he believed the change in his relationship with Marinakis was positive, Nuno responded, "No, it is not good. I think everybody at the club should be united, but this is not the reality."
