West Ham United is currently in negotiations with free agent Callum Wilson, following his departure from Newcastle United after his contract expired at the end of June.
The 33-year-old England striker, who netted 49 goals in 130 appearances for Newcastle, announced his exit after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract. Wilson has reportedly garnered interest from other Premier League clubs and has potential opportunities in Major League Soccer.
This summer, West Ham has already secured the signings of Jean-Clair Todibo, El Hadji Malick Diouf, Kyle Walker-Peters, and Daniel Cummings.
In 2020, Newcastle acquired Wilson from Bournemouth for approximately £20 million. Despite an injury-plagued five years at St James' Park, he made only 18 league appearances last season due to back and hamstring issues.
West Ham struggled offensively during the 2024-25 Premier League season, ranking as the sixth-lowest scoring team with 46 goals, ultimately finishing 14th in the league. Niklas Fullkrug, who was signed for £27 million from Borussia Dortmund last summer, was their leading central striker with just three goals, while England forward Jarrod Bowen scored 13.
