Wolves Coach Vitor Pereira Fined for Misconduct
Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Vitor Pereira has been fined £15,000 for misconduct during the club's Premier League match against Brighton on October 5.
The 57-year-old manager admitted to an FA charge of acting inappropriately during the 19th minute of the game.
Pereira was sent off by referee Jarred Gillett after he kicked a spare match ball towards the dugout, which struck an individual.
An independent regulatory commission determined that while a touchline ban was not warranted, the incident merited a financial penalty greater than the £8,000 fine typically issued for a 'standard case.'
Following the incident, Pereira expressed remorse at his next press conference, stating, "I know football is emotional, and I’m an emotional guy. But my behavior was not proper. I kicked a ball, and it cannot happen again. I apologize."
Currently, Wolves sit at the bottom of the Premier League and remain winless after eight matches. They are set to face promoted side Burnley on Sunday at 14:00 GMT.
