Kelly Cates will host the exclusive television coverage on BBC as Scotland embarks on its quest for World Cup glory this Friday. The BBC secured exclusive rights to broadcast all Scotland men's international football matches on television and radio leading up to the 2026 finals, as announced in March.
Cates, a seasoned television and radio presenter recently added to the flagship Match of the Day program, will lead the studio coverage. Known for being the daughter of Scottish football legend Kenny Dalglish, Cates has already contributed to the pre-match build-up by interviewing head coach Steve Clarke.
In this exclusive interview, Clarke reflected on his experiences watching Scotland in previous World Cups, shared insights on preparations for the current campaign, and discussed the challenges posed by Group C, which also features Belarus and Greece. The interview can be viewed on BBC iPlayer.

The BBC's contract, part of a broader agreement with UEFA, also includes matches involving Northern Ireland and Wales, marking the first time the broadcaster has secured live rights for all three devolved nations of the UK. This deal encompasses 14 live Scotland matches, commencing with the Nations League play-off first leg in Greece on 20 March.
Coverage of all six World Cup qualifiers kicks off this Friday, with Cates joined by an esteemed panel of pundits, including former Scotland internationals Scott Brown and Neil McCann, as well as ex-Denmark forward Peter Lovenkrands. Additionally, former Scotland forwards James McFadden and Steven Thompson will join commentator Liam McLeod from Copenhagen.
