Aberdeen Advances in Scottish Cup with Narrow Victory over Raith Rovers
Jack Milne's early goal propelled Aberdeen into the last 16 of the Scottish Cup as the defending champions secured a 1-0 victory against Raith Rovers at Pittodrie.
The Championship side put forth a commendable performance but struggled to find the back of the net following the early setback, allowing Peter Leven's team to secure their spot in Sunday night’s draw.

After halftime, Aberdeen demonstrated greater control. Interim manager Leven made substitutions before the hour mark, bringing on Jesper Karlsson and Graeme Shinnie for Stuart Armstrong and Nicolas Milanovic.
The changes nearly paid off immediately when Shinnie found Karlsson in a promising position, but the on-loan Bologna forward hesitated, resulting in his shot being deflected over the bar.
Milne had an opportunity to double Aberdeen's lead from another Cameron corner but headed wide, while Leighton Clarkson saw his effort deflected past the goal as the hosts sought to secure a more comfortable margin.
Raith remained resilient but failed to create clear-cut chances as the match wore on. In injury time, Rae made an impressive save from Karlsson to maintain the score at 1-0.
Although Aberdeen could not extend their lead in the closing moments, the final whistle marked a rare victory for the struggling team, ensuring their cup defense continues with a new manager expected to be appointed before the next round.
Analysis: Result More Important than Performance
Cup competitions are primarily about advancing to the next round, and Aberdeen will be relieved to have ended their winless streak, starting their trophy defense positively.
Milne's early goal eased tensions at Pittodrie, and in the second half, the Premiership side dominated, showing little sign of being at risk of elimination.
However, Leven will recognize that his team could have made the match more comfortable had they converted possession into clear chances. Too often, the final delivery let them down, and improved execution could have resulted in a more favorable scoreline.
Raith, despite falling behind early, held their own but could not sustain pressure or convert promising situations into goals. Dougie Imrie will take pride in his team's competitiveness and hopes to replicate such performances to climb into the Championship playoff spots.
