Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Trains with Arsenal as He Seeks New Club
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is currently training at his former club Arsenal as he works to regain his fitness and find a new team.
The 32-year-old ex-England and Liverpool midfielder has been a free agent since departing Turkish club Besiktas in August.
Recently, he was seen training with Arsenal's youth team as Mikel Arteta's squad prepares for their Champions League match against Slavia Prague on Tuesday.
Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Arsenal from Southampton for £12 million in 2011, where he made 132 Premier League appearances during his six-year tenure at the Emirates Stadium.
In 2017, he transferred to Liverpool for £35 million, achieving significant success under manager Jurgen Klopp, including winning both the Champions League and Premier League over six seasons.
He is the latest former player to return to Arsenal's training facility at London Colney in an effort to regain his fitness. In October, youth product Tyreece John-Jules, who was released by Arsenal in 2024, also trained with the team before signing with Kilmarnock.
Additionally, Jack Wilshere trained with Arsenal in 2021 to prepare for his next phase, both physically and mentally.
In August, Oxlade-Chamberlain was linked with potential moves to Birmingham City and Southampton, but neither transfer materialized.
The midfielder, who has earned 35 caps for England, made 50 appearances for Besiktas after leaving Anfield in 2023, scoring five goals and winning the Turkish Cup in 2024.
