Arsenal's Noni Madueke Expected to be Out for Six to Eight Weeks Due to Knee Injury
Arsenal anticipates that Noni Madueke will be sidelined for approximately six to eight weeks following a knee injury sustained during the 1-1 draw against Manchester City on Sunday.
Fortunately, the 23-year-old England international is not believed to have suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Madueke, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea over the summer, was substituted at halftime during the Premier League match against City and has been undergoing tests to assess the severity of his injury.
Medical sources indicate that doctors are currently waiting for the swelling to decrease before providing a definitive diagnosis. However, it is understood that Madueke will be out for at least six weeks, with this timeline considered to be the best-case scenario.
This news comes as a significant setback for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and England head coach Thomas Tuchel, especially given Madueke's impressive start to the season.
If the initial assessment is confirmed, Madueke is expected to be unavailable until at least November, which means he will miss several crucial domestic and European fixtures for Arsenal.
Additionally, the attacker is set to miss England's upcoming matches against Wales and Latvia, and he is also doubtful for the World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania in mid-November.
Arsenal is scheduled to face Sunderland on November 8 in the Premier League. Should Madueke remain unavailable for that match and the international break, he may potentially return for the north London derby against Tottenham on November 23.
