Arsenal Triumphs Over Wolves with Last-Minute Own Goal
Yerson Mosquera's stoppage-time own goal secured a dramatic victory for Premier League leaders Arsenal against bottom-placed Wolves at the Emirates Stadium.
For much of the match, the Gunners struggled to break through a resolute five-man Wolves defense. It wasn't until the 70th minute that they finally took the lead. Bukayo Saka's curling corner was deflected off the post by goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, and the ball ricocheted off his back into the net, giving Arsenal the advantage.
As Arsenal aimed to maintain their lead, their nervousness allowed Wolves to launch several attacks, culminating in a cross from Mateus Mane that found Tolu Arokodare, who headed the ball home in the 90th minute.
Fans were left anxious, fearing that their team had handed title rivals Manchester City an opportunity to draw level on points with a win over Crystal Palace on Sunday. However, the late twist in the match brought immense relief to the home supporters.
In a final push, Saka cut in from the right and delivered a cross towards substitute Gabriel Jesus. Mosquera, in an attempt to clear the ball, inadvertently headed it past his own goalkeeper, sealing the win for Arsenal amidst jubilant scenes.
