Barclays Secures Naming Rights for Hampden Stadium

The Scottish Football Association (SFA) has announced a multi-million-pound, long-term partnership for the naming rights of the national stadium.

From now on, the historic Glasgow venue will be known as Barclays Hampden, marking the first agreement of its kind for the stadium.

In addition to the naming rights, Barclays will also sponsor both the men's and women's Scottish Cup, currently under the sponsorship of Scottish Gas, and will serve as the main sponsor for the Next Gen Girls' Performance Programme.

Ian Maxwell, SFA chief executive, stated, "Throughout our discussions over the past few months, Barclays has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting Scottish football at all levels. The impact of their investment will resonate within Barclays Hampden and beyond, particularly in fostering programs that leverage the power of football to create a positive impact in Scottish society."

Last month, the Scotland men's team secured qualification for next year's World Cup, with the draw scheduled for Friday, while the women's team will begin their qualification journey for the 2027 World Cup next year.

Both teams play their home games at the national stadium, which also hosts the semi-finals and finals of the Scottish Cup and League Cup tournaments.

The League Cup final is set to take place later this month, featuring a match between St Mirren and the defending champions, Celtic, on December 14.

Tom Corbett from Barclays expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "We are thrilled to conclude the year by adding the Scottish home of football to our partnership portfolio. Hampden is a remarkable venue in a vibrant city, and this new collaboration will allow us to further support the next generation of football fans and players."
