Bruno Guimaraes Secures Late Victory for Newcastle United Against Fulham
Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes scored a dramatic late winner, extending Fulham's losing streak at St James' Park.
The match appeared to be heading for a draw as Newcastle faced a resilient, injury-hit Fulham side.
However, in the 90th minute, Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno could only deflect a shot from substitute William Osula, allowing Guimaraes to capitalize on the opportunity and score from close range.
Earlier in the match, Fulham had equalized when midfielder Sasa Lukic headed in a goal to cancel out Jacob Murphy's opener for Newcastle.
Fulham's substitute Kevin delivered a dangerous cross to Raul Jimenez at the back post, who struck the crossbar with a first-time volley. The rebound fell to Lukic, who managed to reach it before Newcastle defender Sven Botman.
Despite Fulham's efforts, Newcastle pressed forward in search of a winning goal, which they ultimately achieved, adding to their midweek victory against Benfica in the Champions League.
In contrast, Fulham has now suffered four consecutive defeats.
