Kilmarnock center-half Corrie Ndaba is on the verge of completing a transfer to Lecce, as announced by the Serie A club.
Lecce shared a photograph of the 25-year-old Irishman holding a club scarf on their official social media account, indicating his arrival on Saturday afternoon for a medical examination, which is scheduled to be completed on Monday.
This development explains Ndaba's absence from Kilmarnock's squad during their 4-0 victory over East Fife, which secured the top spot in their Premier Sports Cup group and advanced them to the last 16.
The defender joined the Scottish Premiership club last summer on a three-year contract after leaving Ipswich Town, following a loan spell at Kilmarnock.
Ndaba made 39 appearances last season, with 37 of them being starts, as Kilmarnock finished ninth in the Scottish top flight.
He now seems set to join Lecce, who recently reappointed Eusebio Di Francesco as head coach following his departure from relegated Venezia.
Lecce ended last season 17th in the Italian top flight, narrowly avoiding relegation.
Ndaba, who represented the Republic of Ireland at the Under-18 level, did not break into Ipswich's first team despite progressing through their youth system. He had loan stints with Hemel Hempstead Town, Chelmsford City, Ayr United, Salford City, Burton Albion, and Fleetwood Town before his move to Kilmarnock.
