Crystal Palace Signs Yeremy Pino from Villarreal
Crystal Palace has secured the signing of Spanish winger Yeremy Pino from Villarreal in a deal potentially worth up to £26 million.
The 22-year-old has agreed to a five-year contract and will be available for the Premier League match against Aston Villa this Sunday.
Pino had a release clause of £69 million; however, with less than two years remaining on his contract, Villarreal opted to accept Crystal Palace's offer.
“It’s fantastic news that Yeremy—an exciting young talent with an impressive record in domestic, European, and international football—has chosen us as the next step in his career,” said Palace chairman Steve Parish.
“With an exciting season ahead for the club, competing on multiple fronts, he is a player whose talents Palace fans will particularly appreciate, and I look forward to seeing him step out at Selhurst Park.”
Pino, who developed through the youth system at Las Palmas, made 133 appearances for Villarreal since his debut in 2020, contributing four goals in 34 league matches last season, helping the team secure a fifth-place finish and qualify for the Champions League.
He has also scored three goals in 15 appearances for the Spanish national team since making his debut in 2021.
Pino's arrival at Crystal Palace follows England forward Eberechi Eze's £60 million transfer to Arsenal last week.
He becomes the Eagles' third signing of the summer, following goalkeeper Walter Benitez's free transfer from PSV Eindhoven and defender Borna Sosa's £3 million move from Ajax.
Additionally, the club is pursuing a transfer for Manchester City’s 30-year-old Swiss defender Manuel Akanji.
