England Under-21s Continue Winning Streak with Victory Over Andorra
Chelsea forward Tyrique George scored the decisive goal as the England Under-21 team secured a narrow victory against a resilient Andorra, maintaining their perfect start in the 2027 European Under-21 Championship qualifiers.
Head coach Lee Carsley fielded an attacking lineup featuring George, Chelsea teammate Jamie Gittens, Fulham midfielder Josh King, and Arsenal forward Ethan Nwaneri.
The breakthrough came in the 41st minute at Pride Park Stadium in Derby, with George finding the net after a well-crafted play. Gittens, who was a persistent threat throughout the match, skillfully maneuvered past two defenders before delivering a precise cutback to George, who unleashed a left-footed shot into the roof of the net.
England had opportunities to extend their lead, with George coming close prior to his goal, and both Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Nwaneri creating significant chances. Additionally, King saw a goal disallowed for offside.
This victory positions England at the top of Group D, boasting three wins and three clean sheets from their first three matches.
The Under-21 squad will return to action in November, facing the Republic of Ireland and Slovakia.
