FA Cup Second Round Draw Highlights Exciting Matches
Two teams from the sixth tier of the English football pyramid are assured a place in this season's FA Cup third round following the draw for the second round held on Monday.
Slough Town, representing the National League South, was the first team drawn and will host Macclesfield from the National League North.
Chelmsford City, who triumphed over local rivals Braintree Town with a score of 4-1 over the weekend, will face another National League South team, Weston-super-Mare, at home.
In other matchups, Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke returns to his former club, Port Vale, while National League side Gateshead will host League Two leaders Walsall.
After a thrilling 4-3 win against Forest Green Rovers on Friday, Jack Wilshere's Luton Town will travel to Fleetwood Town on the north-west coast.
Brackley Town will play at home against League One's Burton Albion, and National League side Wealdstone will visit Grimsby Town.
2013 FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic, who needed a penalty shootout to defeat Hemel Hempstead Town in the first round, will enjoy a home tie against League Two's Barrow.
Following their dramatic extra-time victory, National League North club Buxton will face League Two's struggling Cheltenham Town.
The second-round matches are scheduled to take place during the weekend of December 6-7.
Defending champions Crystal Palace, along with all clubs from the Premier League and Championship, will enter the competition in the third round in the new year.
