Fenerbahçe has reached an agreement with Marco Asensio following negotiations with Paris St. Germain. Initially offering 9 million Euros, the club increased its bid to 10 million Euros after the Spanish star found the original offer insufficient. Asensio, who is not part of PSG's future plans, reportedly agreed to the terms. The proposal includes a net annual salary of 10 million Euros, along with performance bonuses for achievements such as reaching the Champions League group stages, success in European competitions, and winning the league.
WANTS TO RETURN TO THE NATIONAL TEAM
The 29-year-old player, under contract with Paris St. Germain until June 30, 2026, will be transferred for a fee of 10 million Euros. Asensio views Fenerbahçe as a stepping stone to work with renowned coach Jose Mourinho and to return to the Spanish National Team after a two-year absence, as well as to compete in the Champions League. The club is eagerly anticipating Asensio's participation in their training camp in Portugal.
IGLI TARE PERSONALLY MET WITH THE PLAYER
Fenerbahçe has also reached an agreement with Jamaican-born English left-back Archie Brown, currently playing for Gent. The player is expected to sign a four-year contract, with a transfer fee of 8 million Euros and an annual salary of 2.5 million Euros. However, Serie A giant Milan's interest may complicate the transfer. Milan, seeking to fill the gap left by Theo Hernandez's move to Al Hilal, has had its sporting director Igli Tare meet with Brown. The player's decision is expected early next week.
COMPLIES WITH 12+2 FOREIGN PLAYER RULE
Archie Brown, capable of playing as a left center-back in a three-man defense or as a left-back in a four-man defense, is highly desired by coach Jose Mourinho. The 23-year-old English player's compliance with the new foreign player rule requiring two players born in 2002 or later is an additional advantage. With a current market value of 7 million Euros, Brown has two years remaining on his contract with Gent. Last season, he played 46 matches for the Belgian team, scoring three goals and providing six assists.
