FIFA Introduces Affordable Tickets for 2026 World Cup
FIFA has announced the introduction of a limited number of "more affordable" tickets priced at $60 (£45) for all 104 matches of the 2026 World Cup, following criticism regarding its pricing structure.
The governing body of world football stated that these new tickets will be available to a select group of "loyal fans" from the countries that have qualified for the tournament.
The £45 tickets will fall under the supporter entry tier and will represent 10% of each Football Association's allocation for their respective teams.
According to a FIFA statement, "The entry tier tickets will be allocated specifically to supporters of qualified teams, with the selection and distribution process managed individually by the participating member associations (PMAs)."
Each PMA will establish its own eligibility criteria and application process, ensuring that these tickets are allocated specifically to loyal fans closely connected to their national teams.
In total, 50% of each PMA's allocation will fall within the most affordable range, which includes 40% in the supporter value tier and 10% in the supporter entry tier. The remaining allocation will be evenly divided between the supporter standard tier and the supporter premier tier.
