Former Chelsea Star Oscar Discharged from Hospital
Former Chelsea and Brazil midfielder Oscar has been discharged from the hospital after being admitted last week due to a heart issue.
The 34-year-old player fell ill while undergoing physical tests at Sao Paulo's training center on Tuesday, ahead of the new season.
Sao Paulo released a statement confirming that Oscar left Einstein Hospital Israelita on Sunday and was reported to be "stable and clinically well" throughout his stay.
The statement also noted that extensive investigations conducted at the hospital revealed that Oscar experienced an episode of vasovagal syncope.
Vasovagal syncope is a common type of fainting caused by a sudden drop in blood pressure and heart rate.
The club indicated that Oscar will now adhere to a medical rest program for the next few days.
Oscar began his career with Sao Paulo and made a return to the club last year on a three-year contract that extends until 2027, after spending eight years playing in China.
