Jack Grealish Named Premier League Player of the Month for August
Everton winger Jack Grealish has been awarded the Premier League Player of the Month for August.
The England international, who celebrated his 30th birthday on Wednesday, has made an immediate impact at Everton since joining the club on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
In just two league starts, Grealish has recorded four assists during victories over Brighton and Wolverhampton, having initially come on as a substitute in Everton's season opener against Leeds.
His four assists are two more than any other player has achieved after the first three matches of the Premier League season.
This is Grealish's first time winning the award, and he is the first Everton player to receive this honor since Dominic Calvert-Lewin in September 2020.
Since making his Premier League debut with Aston Villa in May 2014, Grealish has accumulated 193 appearances in the league and has won the title three times with Manchester City.
Prior to his move to Everton, he had only recorded two assists in a single Premier League match on two occasions.
Grealish is the first Everton player to achieve multiple assists in consecutive Premier League matches, and he has the opportunity to become the first player to do so in three straight games when the Toffees host his former club Villa on Saturday at 15:00 BST.
He topped an eight-man shortlist that was determined by a combination of public voting and assessments from a panel of football experts.
