Leeds United Signs Defender James Justin from Leicester City
Leeds United has completed the signing of Leicester City defender James Justin for a fee of £10 million.
The 27-year-old full-back has joined the club on a four-year contract, becoming Leeds' tenth signing of the summer transfer window.
Leeds will pay Leicester £8 million upfront, with an additional £2 million in potential add-ons.
Justin is not expected to feature in Tuesday's Carabao Cup second-round match against Sheffield Wednesday, as Leeds prepares to host Newcastle in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday.
Having started his career at his hometown club Luton Town, Justin moved to Leicester City in 2019, where he made 169 appearances and scored 11 goals. The right-back is also capable of playing as a left-back.
Justin won the FA Cup with Leicester in 2021 and played a key role in their Championship title victory in 2024. He has also earned one cap for the England national team, appearing against Hungary in the UEFA Nations League in 2022.
Leeds United is eager to further bolster their squad before the summer transfer window closes, having recently signed forward Noah Okafor from AC Milan for £18 million.
The club's other new additions include England striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, midfielders Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff, Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri, Swedish left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson, and centre-back Jaka Bijol from Udinese. They also acquired centre-back Sebastiaan Bornauw and forward Lukas Nmecha, both of whom played for Wolfsburg last season.
Since their relegation from the Premier League last season, Leicester City has seen several players depart, including Conor Coady, Wilfred Ndidi, Mads Hermansen, and Kasey McAteer. The overall sales, including Justin, have totaled nearly £50 million.
