Manchester United's Benjamin Sesko to Miss a Month Due to Knee Injury
Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko is expected to be sidelined for approximately a month due to a knee injury sustained during the match against Tottenham Hotspur just before the international break.
Sesko, who transferred to United from RB Leipzig for £74 million in August, incurred the injury during the 2-2 draw on November 8, where he was unable to finish the match after coming on as a second-half substitute.
Head coach Ruben Amorim stated that he was uncertain about the severity of the injury, although club sources have attempted to alleviate concerns regarding a significant setback for the Slovenian forward.
Despite these reassurances, the 22-year-old has been ruled out of Slovenia's World Cup qualifiers and is anticipated to miss around four weeks of action, although the exact duration of his recovery remains to be confirmed.
Amorim is scheduled to provide further updates on Sesko's condition during a news conference later this week, ahead of Monday's Premier League match against Everton at Old Trafford (20:00 GMT).
This situation may coincide with the departure of fellow forwards Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo for the Africa Cup of Nations, which is set to commence in Morocco on December 21.
United, along with other Premier League clubs, is not expected to release players at the earliest opportunity. The team has a home fixture against Bournemouth on December 15.
Since joining United, Sesko has scored two goals in 12 appearances.
