Matt Turner Joins Lyon from Nottingham Forest
United States goalkeeper Matt Turner has transferred to Lyon on a permanent basis from Nottingham Forest.
The 31-year-old initially joined Nottingham Forest from Arsenal in August 2023 and participated in 21 matches across all competitions before being succeeded as the first-choice goalkeeper by Matz Sels.
Last season, Turner was loaned to Crystal Palace. Although he did not feature in any Premier League matches at Selhurst Park, he was part of the squad that triumphed over Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.
Turner moved to Arsenal from Major League Soccer's New England Revolution in 2022 and made seven appearances in all competitions, serving as a backup to Aaron Ramsdale.
Turner is joining Ligue 1's Lyon, who recently avoided relegation to France's second division after a successful financial appeal.
Internationally, Turner has earned 52 caps for the United States, though he was an unused substitute during their journey to the final of the 2025 Gold Cup.
Turner's departure from the City Ground this summer follows that of Anthony Elanga, Danilo, Ramon Sosa, and Andrew Omobamidele.
