Patrick Bamford Leaves Leeds as Players Go on Loan
Patrick Bamford has departed from Premier League newcomers Leeds United by mutual consent, while full-back Isaac Schmidt and winger Largie Ramazani will spend the 2025-26 season on loan.
This marks the end of a seven-year tenure for Bamford at Elland Road, where he netted 60 goals in 205 appearances after joining from Middlesbrough for £7 million in 2018.
Bamford played a crucial role in two promotion-winning campaigns for Leeds and scored 17 goals during the club's first season back in the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa in 2020.
However, the 31-year-old was informed by manager Daniel Farke last month that he was "not part" of the plans for the current season and would need to train with the under-21 squad if he remained at the club.
Isaac Schmidt has signed with Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, while Largie Ramazani will spend the remainder of the season in Spain with Valencia.
Swiss left-back Schmidt made 14 appearances across all competitions for Leeds last season after transferring from St. Gallen last summer. His exit follows the arrival of full-back James Justin from Leicester City in a deal worth £10 million.
Belgian winger Ramazani, who came up through the ranks at Manchester United, returns to Spain after previously spending four seasons with Almeria from 2020. The 24-year-old contributed six goals to help Leeds secure the Championship title last season but faced limited playing time due to an ankle ligament injury sustained last October.
Since their promotion, Leeds have made 10 new signings, including Swiss forward Noah Okafor, England striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, midfielders Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff, Swedish left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson, and centre-back Jaka Bijol.
